HIGHLAND FALLS N.Y. FORWARD – PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES AND SOLICITATION OF PUBLIC INPUT

N.Y. Forward grant program is new for 2022 and is focused on the revitalization of summer downtown areas such as downtown Highland Falls. Our goal of the Highland Falls is to utilize N.Y. Forward funding to reestablish downtown as a dynamic place. with mix of uses that fulfill resident needs while attracting new and repeat visitors.

Our Vision for Downtown Highland Falls…

Downtown areas are not just geographic centers, downtowns are the soul of the communities – the center for culture, commerce, and services. The place where the residents not only live or patronize local businesses; but gather to celebrate, commemorate, and pay homage to residents who have sacrificed much so the community can grow and thrive. These characteristics of downtown are no more evident than in the Village of Highland Falls –the nation’s Hometown USA! Through Fund. NC From The N.Y. Forward Program downtown Highland Falls will be revitalized as a place for cultural enrichment, varied services and products, meaningful employment, and diverse activities and events. The success to be achieved is grounded in the community’s rich heritage and is a direct reflection of the input from the residents of Highland Falls. When completed, the Highland Falls DRI will transform the downtown area into an area that residents pridefully call home and visitors remember for the quality experience of their stay.

Overview of the Highland Falls N.Y. Forward Program

New York State has added the N.Y. Forward program to restore Summer downtown areas in recognition of the vital role these areas play in the community’s well-being. The Village of Highland Falls has undertaken a thoughtful and inclusive process in preparing its 2022 Application for N.Y. Forward Funding. A range of community outreach efforts and strategic planning is being undertaken resulting in a series of integrated programs and projects that are ready for implementation. The final step in this process is to apply for and receive funding through the N.Y. Forward Program in 2022.
